Mary Ann Brody
M.Div., ACPE Certified Educator, Executive Director, Crossroads of Caring, Inc.
Mary Ann is an ACPE Certified Educator and ordained priest endorsed for chaplaincy by The Episcopal Church. She began her career as a Child Development Specialist and Special Education teacher at Centennial School in Bethlehem, PA. She later worked as a Wilderness Therapist and taught special and general education in middle and high school. She attended Bexley Hall Seminary in Rochester, completed her first CPE unit at Sisters of Charity Hospital's community-based program, and served at Benedict House. After completing her chaplain residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, she served two urban parishes in Rochester. Mary Ann's Certified Educator program was completed through the Great Lakes Supervisory Consortium. She started a community and congregation-based CPE program in August 2020. Her professional interests include training spiritual care providers, promoting holistic health, and helping others engage their spirituality.

Rev. William Reynolds
M.Div., ACPE Certified Educator
Bill is an ACPE Certified Educator, ordained and endorsed for institutional chaplaincy by the American Baptist Churches, USA. He spent his school-age years in Germany and Belgium, received his M.Div. from Furman University, and completed his first unit of CPE at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC in 1986. After serving as Co-Minister for Education, Mission, and Youth at Oakhurst Baptist Church, Bill resumed his clinical and supervisory training at Egleston Children’s Hospital in 1993. He was fully certified in 2000 and served as Associate Director of Pastoral Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Spiritual Care Counselor at CareFirst Hospice. Currently, he is the Interim Pastor for First Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY. His clinical and educational interests include spiritual care with children and adolescents, staff support, death and dying, clinical bioethics, and the theory of living human systems and functional subgrouping.

Erin Cerio
Administrative Assistant
Erin is a passionate professional from Westfield, NY with a background in biology and Environmental Science. She began her career at Chautauqua Institution, where she led the launch of two health and fitness facilities and managed the pool and beaches. Erin later moved to Rochester, NY, where she worked as a Graphic Designer for NGS, a science education curriculum developer. She specializes in resource development, advertisement, web, and logo design. Erin is also an education content creator for Canva, focusing on science education. She has been selected for special projects to expand the Canva library and provide teachers with additional free resources. In 2023, Erin formed her LLC, Dream Bird Designs, where she crafts original designs for Canva. Outside of work, Erin also volunteers at Lollipop Farms, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact in her community. Erin joined the Crossroads team in January 2024.

Board Chair
Norm is the Senior Pastor of New Hope Evangelical Church. He is an accomplished Human Service Administrator and Church Administrator with more than 35 years of experience. His favorite past times include golf and rooting for the Buffalo Bills.

Valerie Way
LCSW-R, Board Vice Chair
Valerie has over 30 years of experience working in various roles within the mental health and addiction field. Currently, she works for The National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependence- Rochester Area as the Project Coordinator for Team Awareness and Workplace Wellness. Valerie continues to have faith in the power of the soul and a strong commitment to helping others find their personal path to recovery.

Suzanne F. Shady
BCC, Hospice and Academic Chaplain, Board Member & PAC Chair
Sue is a board-certified lay Catholic chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains. She has worked on health care teams in hospitals, long term care facilities and hospice programs for more than 24 years. Now retired, she continues to teach others about spirituality and the joy, peace and personal growth it can provide through several volunteer endeavors.

Peter Sear
Treasurer
Peter, a graduate of the University of Toronto, worked in the real estate subsidiary of First Federal S&L for 13 years. He later became Executive Vice President and a Board member, managing their $5 billion asset portfolio. After Canada Trust acquired them, Peter ran for Brighton Town Council and acquired a small classic auto restoration business. He’s been involved in Rotary Club, Easter Seals Society, Sister Cities, Birthright, Heritage Christian Services foundation board, Agency board, and Blessed Sacrament Parish Finance Council.

Rev. Canon Dr. C. Denise Yarbrough
Board Member
Denise is an Episcopal priest at the University of Rochester, serving as Director of Religious and Spiritual Life. She oversees the twelve faith communities in the Interfaith Chapel and teaches in the Department of Religion and Classics. Denise has extensive experience in interfaith dialogue and education. Before becoming a priest, she worked as an attorney in New York City. Denise enjoys singing and pastoral work with her Certified Therapy Dog, Sasha, who provides excellent care.

Zeynab Mancini, M.A.
Hospital and Academic Chaplain
Zeynab is an Azerbaijani-born chaplain with a Master's degree in Human Physiology and an MA in Religious Studies. She’s worked in healthcare, mental health, university, and correctional facilities. Zeynab is currently applying for Professional Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains, with the goal of becoming an ACPE certified educator. She has completed six units of CPE in three hospital settings.

Marcus Ebenhoe
M.Div., Dir. of Advocacy and Social Ministry
Marcus is the director of advocacy and parish social ministry at Catholic Family Center. He has worked with those on the margins of society in a variety of positions through the years. He has over 5 years of experience as a chaplain before moving to his current position.

Rev. Jacqueline J. Nelson
M.Div., Th.M., Director for Student Support Services & Coordinator for Spiritual Care
Jackie is an ordained National Baptist Minister with a B.A. in Africana Studies from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and an M.Div. and Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary. She received certificates in Black Church Studies and Women, Theology & Gender, and was awarded the Bryant M. Kirkland Award for Excellence in Practical Theology in 2016. In September 2021, Jackie added a new role at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. She specializes in engaging difficult conversations and fostering safe spaces for the disenfranchised.

Sanjay Mathur
Hindu Chaplain
Sanjay is a business analyst with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce. After immigrating from India to the United States, he became the President of the Hindu Temple of Rochester, where he is currently a Board of Trustee. He’s completed 4 units of CPE in two hospital settings and an addiction facility. Sanjay is Hindu Chaplain at the University of Rochester’s Interfaith Chapel, Syracuse University’s Hendricks Chapel, and Rochester Institute of Technology’s Spirituality & Religious Life. He’s also Membership Co-Chair at the North American Hindu Chaplains Association and serves as a Board of Director at Heritage Christian Services in Upstate New York.

Maureen Tuite
RN, Arnot Health, Staff Chaplain
Maureen is a nurse practitioner with a Master's Degree from Syracuse University who has primarily worked in critical care nursing and nurse education. She has spent the last 20 years full-time working in hospital settings. In 2017, she began volunteering in the Spiritual Care Department at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and participated in a local chaplaincy program. In 2019-2020, she participated in CareFirst Hospice's CPE program. Maureen has been working as a hospital chaplain for Arnot Health since 2019, serving as a preceptor for newly hired chaplains.

Rev. Kelly Spahr
M. Div, BCC
Kelly is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and a board certified chaplain with the Spiritual Care Association. She received her M.Div from Meadville Lombard Theological School and has been serving as a chaplain in the Rochester area since 2012. She currently works at Hillside Children’s Center and serves as a per diem chaplain at Strong Memorial Hospital, and is a chaplain at the URMC NeuroPalliative Clinic. She did her chaplaincy internship and residency at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Rev. Padraic Collins-Bohrer
M. Div., Chaplain, Heritage Christian Services
Paddy is a chaplain with Heritage Christian Services and a priest in The Episcopal Church. He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from Bexley-Seabury Episcopal Seminary. Paddy completed his CPE Internship and Residency at The University of Rochester Medical Center. He regularly assists Episcopal Churches in Rochester, preaching and presiding at the Eucharist. Paddy advocates for full participation of people with disabilities in faith communities and focuses on disability theology.

Sara Passamonte
Executive Director, Compeer Rochester
Sara, a psychology graduate from Nazareth College, has been a dedicated leader at Compeer Rochester since 2014. She became the Director of Programs in 2014 and President in 2020, leading the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic and the social justice movement. Sara has been recognized as a member of Rochester Business Journal's "Forty under 40" in 2021. She has experience in critical incident management, Advancing Youth Development, and trauma-informed care, and is a long-time Compeer volunteer.

Patti Blaine
BCC, Pediatric Chaplain, UR Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital, Episcopal Deacon
Patti, an ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church, is a Pediatric Chaplain at UR Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital. She completed 8 units of CPE at Strong Memorial Hospital in 2019, earned a Masters in Religious Studies from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in 2022, and was board-certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains in 2023. Patti has experience working as a per diem or part-time chaplain at Strong Memorial, Rochester General, and Highland Hospitals.

Janice Lum
Manager of Spiritual Care and Chaplain at UR Thompson Hospital
Janice is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and has served on its chaplaincy task to establish a program initiative that serves, networks, and provides resources to other Nazarene civilian chaplains. As the current district chaplain director in Upstate NY, she attended the doctoral spiritual direction certification program at Nazarene Theological Seminary. Janice highly values lifelong learning and is pursuing board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, with a planned completion date in October 2024. She is also certified in palliative care and serves on UR Thompson Health's ethics committee, working clinically alongside the hospital team as a chaplain. Janice enjoys providing spiritual care in hospital settings and Clinical Pastoral Education, where she oversees chaplain interns.
